Please help us support the mission of the Milton Young & Elementary Musicians Festivals

Dear Friend of Music:

For over 30 years, Milton Performing Arts has sponsored an annual town-wide music festival for young musicians. The Milton Young Musicians Festival gives encouragement to young people with an interest in music and fosters their developing performance skills. All participants receive a medal at the end of the day, and recipients of the Gold Medal are invited to perform again later in a formal concert, free and open to the public. Quite a few of the festival's medalists have gone on to successful musical careers.

We can all take pride in the Milton Young Musicians Festival and in continuing its worthy tradition of nurturing the musical passions and talents of our youth. We are now in our 5th year of presenting The Milton Elementary Musicians Festival, a second festival for younger students in grades 1 – 5, and we are pleased that this festival is so well received. Each child has the opportunity to work with an accompanist or coach as well as play in a performance master class for professional guest artists who give comments and suggestions to each student.

In the past the festivals have received support from the Milton Cultural Council, a local agency of the Massachusetts Cultural Council, from the Milton Junior Women’s Club, and the Cunningham Foundation, as well as private donations. The continuation of these fine programs depend heavily on contributions by individuals like you, so we are asking for your support.

The Elementary Music Festival will be held on Sunday March 12 at East Congregational Church. This year's Young Musicians Festival will be Saturday, May 13 at Milton Academy. The Gold Medal Concerts will be on Sunday, May 14 at East Congregational Church, 610 Adams Street, Milton. All events are free and open to the public.

Please take the time to consider the importance of music in your life and in the life of our community, and the message your support of the arts and arts education conveys to your children and your neighbors. Donations in any amount are welcome! All contributions made prior to the Gold Medal Concerts will be acknowledged in the concert program.

Thank you! We look forward to seeing you at any of the festivals and the Gold Medal Concerts.
